For patients from South East Queensland, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales suffering from cancer, Natural Bridge Medical Centre offer intravenous Vitamin C infusions.
Dr Margaret Buring offers bulk billing consultations for patients who wish to consider the benefits Vitamin C as part of their treatment program.

How Does IV Vitamin C work?

Intravenous vitamin therapy involves giving large dosages of the nutrients to patients using either a drip or injection. Effectively the vitamins and minerals are introduced into the bloodstream thereby avoiding the gut and guaranteeing very high absorption rates into the cells.
It has been proven that Vitamin C, when administered in high doses by I.V. or intravenous infusions, can kill cancer cells.
This is because Vitamin C interacts with iron and other metals to create hydrogen peroxide. In high concentrations, hydrogen peroxide damages the DNA and mitochondria of cancer cells and shuts down their energy supply thereby killing them.
In large concentrations, the antioxidant Vitamin C will start behaving as a pro-oxidant as it interacts with intracellular copper and iron. Only when large amounts of Vitamin C are introduced intravenously to cancer cells or infections generally can significant positive results be achieved.

What about supplement tablets?

As far back as the 1950's reseachers have been aware of the therapeutic value of high dosages of Vitamin C in treating a wide variety of illnesses, including the treatment of some forms of cancer. However research also observed that taken orally, the body could not process enough of the nutrients into the bloodstream, hence the need to introduce it intravenously. This is true of all the recognised brands of Vitamin C tablets. Regardless of the labelled dosage, there is a limit to the amount that the body can absorb orally.
Only when large amounts of Vitamin C are introduced intravenous to cancer cells can significant amounts be absorbed.

Consult your doctor

You need to consult with trained practitioners regarding high dosage Vitamin C infusions to ensure that effective testing and observations are being conducted. Establishing the correct tolerance level for individual patients is essential.
